The Cenacle: A Call to Prayer
Our Lady is inviting all to enter into the Cenacle of her Immaculate Heart: bishops, the priests, the religious, the lay faithful, including families, the youth and children. The prodigy of the second Pentecost takes place when the Church has entered into her Cenacle.
Why wait? Let us begin celebrating our renewal through the Cenacle.
"I am asking you that cenacles among priests, cenacles among faithful and especially family cenacles be multiplied even more. I am asking in particular that there be formed everywhere children's cenacles, as a crusade of innocent prayer, in order to form a great barrier against the spread of evil and sin, and allow God and your heavenly Mother to bring about the victory of goodness and of love." (Msg. No. 419,g)
"My Immaculate Heart is glorified by you, when you multiply everywhere cenacles of prayer made with me, which I have asked of you.
In this way you are preparing the time of the second Pentecost for the Church and for the world. With the second Pentecost, the Holy Spirit will render his perfect witness to the Son and will bring upon the earth his glorious reign of love, that Jesus Christ may be loved, adored and glorified by a completely renewed humanity." (Msg. No.427,k-l)
What is a "Cenacle"?
“Cenacle” is a word for the “upper room” where the Last Supper took place and where the apostles gathered after the Ascension in prayer with Mary, in expectation of the Holy Spirit. It was during this original Pentecost, when the power of the Holy Spirit manifested upon them, that the Catholic Church was born.
Now, after more than 2000 years, Our Lady renews the call for all her children to gather together with her in the cenacle of her Immaculate Heart in anticipation of the new Pentecost.
“The whole Church must now enter into the cenacle of my Immaculate Heart” (Msg. No. 355 b) . . .“the new and spiritual cenacle . . . in order to obtain the gift of the new Pentecost” (Msg. No. 404 c, 428 c) .
“I urge you to multiply everywhere cenacles of prayer . . . in incessant prayer with your heavenly Mother” (Msg. No. 426 l).
Why is the Cenacle Important?
The second Pentecost can only be realized after the pattern of the first Pentecost, i.e., Mary and the apostles in the cenacle. Our Lady has said: “Only in the cenacle of my Immaculate Heart, when the whole Church will have entered in, will the prodigy of the second Pentecost take place” (Msg. No. 355 b).
She cautions us, too: “The period of the purification and the great tribulation in which you are living must be for you the time of the cenacle” (Msg. No. 573 j).
"More is obtained through one day of intense prayer than through years of continuous discussion". (Msg. No. 296,j)

2. She takes the children under her special protection.
3. She cares for all the spiritual and material needs of the family.
4. She will protect these families from the fire of chastisement.
“If you all walk along the road which I have traced out for you, if you listen to and put into practice what I have said to you today, your families will be the first buds of my triumph: small, hidden, quiet buds, which are already sprouting in every part of the earth, as though to anticipate the new era and the new times which are even now at your doors.” (Msg. No. 358 s)
1. Invocation to the Holy Spirit
"I invite you to repeat often: 'Come, Holy Spirit, come by means of the powerful intercession of the Immaculate Heart of Mary; your well-beloved Spouse" (Msg. No. 226,k)
2. Recitation of the Holy Rosary
After the Fatima Prayer at the end of each decade,
O Sacrament Most Holy, O Sacrament Divine;
All praise and all thanksgiving be every moment Thine.
“When you recite the rosary, you invite me to pray with you, and each time, I truly join in your prayer” (Msg. No. 148 p).
"The prayer of my predilection is the Holy Rosary." (Msg. No. 275c)
"Your entire Rosary, which you recite in the Cenacles in accordance with the urgent request of your Mother, is like an immense chain of love and salvation with which you are able to encircle persons and situations, and even to influence all the events of your time.
Continue to recite it, and multiply your cenacles of prayer, thus responding to the invitation which the first of my beloved sons, the Vicar of Jesus, has made to you." (Msg. No. 184, d-e)
3. Prayer for the Holy Father, the Pope
With the recitation of the rosary, it is customary to pray one Our Father, one Hail Mary, and one Glory Be for the Popeʼs intentions. These fully satisfy the conditions for obtaining the indulgence attached to the rosary.
“You must support him with prayer, with your love and with your fidelity. You must follow him, carrying out to perfection whatever he determines for the good of the Church” (Msg. No. 162 e).
We suggest praying another Our Father, Hail Mary and Glory Be for the Bishop and the priests of the Diocese where the cenacle is prayed.
4. Reading and Meditation on the Messages given in the book "To the Priests Our Lady's Beloved Sons"
Reading a message from the book “To the Priests Our Lady’s Beloved Sons” is an essential part of the cenacle. It teaches us “to live our consecration to her Immaculate Heart”(Msg. No. 604 i), accustoming us to her “way of seeing, thinking, praying and loving” (Msg. No. 86 m).
If a priest is present, he may give a brief reflection on the message. "Read it, my beloved sons; meditate on it; live it! Have no doubt; I am speaking to you. Through these words, I am present in it and manifest myself. Only tomorrow will you understand the importance of this maternal message of mine." (Msg. No. 284, j)
In this portion, we share insights or inspirations from our meditation. We give witness to the glory of God in our lives. Sharing the joys of living in Christ, through Mary, strengthens our faith, gives a healthy spiritual disposition and deepens the hope and expectation of each participant.
6. Act of Consecration
“Make it; renew it often, live this consecration of yours!" (Msg. No. 86 k)
Any formula of Consecration to the Immaculate Heart may be used. Our Lady said: “This complete offering of yours is the only thing I ask of you” (Msg. No. 84 f). By this act, we put our life into her hands, completely and without reserve, so that she may transform us into the image and likeness of her Son Jesus.
“This act has been taken seriously by me, and it has in itself the capacity of truly changing and transforming your whole life. With the act of consecration, you have put your life in my hands. Gently will I lead you to that perfection which is pleasing to my Heart, and little by little I will transform you into a very faithful image of my Son Jesus” (Msg. No. 22 c-e).
"They must let themselves be led by me, like little children. They must begin again to pray more, to love Jesus more, to adore Him more in the mystery of the Eucharist, so that He becomes the Sun that illuminates their whole life. What joy and what a gift of love will Jesus in the Eucharist communicate to these faithful who are consecrated to me!"
7. Hymn / Prayer to Our Lady
As the cenacle begins with the invocation to the Holy Spirit, it ends with any hymn or prayer to Our Lady.
